Who We Are

Our Story: Long before Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital opened its doors in 1955, a group of women known as the Tacoma Orthopedic Association, now Mary Bridge Brigade, opened their hearts to the children of our community. Since 1921, they have dedicated their time, their resources, and their vision to advancing the health interests of children. In fact, this volunteer organization was the driving force in establishing Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital, South Puget Sound and Southwest Washington’s only hospital dedicated to the health care of children.

Mission Statement: The Mary Bridge Brigade is an organization of volunteers whose sole purpose is to further the interest of and aid in the support of  Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital.

Vision Statement: The Mary Bridge Brigade is a recognized asset in our community working to support the health and safety of our children.

Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital  is a member of MultiCare Health System. Separately licensed as a children’s hospital in the state of Washington, and state designated Level II Pediatric Trauma Center for South Puget Sound and Southwest Washington.

The funds we raise for  Mary Bridge Children’s provide support for:
